Mucolytic drug, thins secretions in the airways and facilitates its removal.
The active substance is Acetylcysteine . It is a derivative of the cysteine amino acid. Acetylcysteine increases the secretion of mucus in the airways, reduces its viscosity and liquefies obstructing secretions and facilitates its transport (improves the function of the respiratory epithelium). In this way, it helps to clear the airways, facilitates expectoration, does not disturb the natural cough reflex. Acetylcysteine is also used as an antidote for Paracetamol poisoning.
The preparation is indicated for short-term use as a drug that dilutes the airway secretion and facilitates its expectoration in patients with symptoms of infection in the upper respiratory tract.
