What is Amorolak?

Antifungal medicine for topical use.

What does Amorolak contain and how does it work?

The active substance is Amorolfine. It is a substance with antifungal activity, effective against many species of dermatophytes, molds, as well as yeasts and some other pathogenic fungi. The action of amorolfine, like antifungal drugs from the group of imidazole and triazole derivatives, leads to the inhibition of the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. The cell membrane is damaged, resulting in the death of fungal cells. After topical application to the nail plate amorolfine destroys the fungus located in the nail bed. The absorption of the active substance into the blood is negligible. Even long-term use of the nail polish formulation does not lead to the accumulation of the drug in the body.

When should Amorolak be used?

The preparation is indicated in the local treatment of nail fungus caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds, if the nail matrix has not been taken.

Dosage Amorolak

The product has the form of a medicinal nail polish and is intended for local application on pathologically changed nails of the hands or feet. Use the product as directed by your doctor. If you have any doubts regarding the use of the preparation, consult a physician.
Apply topically to an infected nail 1-2 times a week. The surface of the nail should be filed with the aid of the included file and cleaned and degreased using the included swabs soaked in isopropyl alcohol. For subsequent applications, the nail should also be thoroughly cleaned of the remains of the varnish using a nail file and swabs. The varnish should be applied to the entire surface of the changed nail. Before applying the varnish on each subsequent nail, immerse the spatula in the varnish bottle and do not wipe the spatula against the edge of the bottle. After applying, the varnish should be allowed to dry for 3-5 minutes. After use, the spatula should be cleaned using the same swab that previously had the nail plate cleaned. Filters used for infected nails must not be used for healthy nails.
The treatment should continue to regenerate the nail plate and completely heal. The treatment period is usually 6 months for hand nails and 9-12 months for foot nails.
Due to lack of clinical experience, the preparation should not be used in children.
