What is Aneptinex?

A drug with antidepressant, anxiolytic and anti-dynamic activity.

What does Aneptinex contain and how does it work?

The active substance is tianeptine. The mechanism of its action is based on increasing serotonin reuptake in neurons of the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, stimulating the electrical activity of pyramidal cells in the hippocampus and accelerating the recovery of activity after functional inhibition.
Tianeptine in terms of the impact on mood disorders takes an intermediate place between antidepressants acting as a stimulant and antidepressants acting in a calming effect. It has a pronounced effect on somatic disorders, especially on the part of the gastrointestinal tract, associated with anxiety and mood disorders. It does not affect the sleep and waking processes, it does not affect the cholinergic system.

When should I use Aneptinex?

The preparation is indicated for the treatment of depressive syndromes in adults.

When not to use this preparation?

Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the preparation if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients.
The use of non-selective monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors is contraindicated in parallel or within the last 14 days (tianeptine should be discontinued 24 hours before treatment with this drug).

Take special care with Aneptinex?

Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. In some situations it may be necessary to carry out specific check-ups.
Depression is associated with an increased risk of suicidal thoughts, self-injury and suicide (events related to suicide). The effects of the preparation may occur only after a few weeks of treatment, sometimes this time is longer. Patients should be under strict medical supervision until they recover. People who have suicide attempts or those who show a significant degree of suicidal tendency before starting treatment should be closely monitored by a doctor. Also, during the change of dosage, the patient should be covered by special medical care. Patients and those around them should pay attention to any clinical sign of disease severity, suicidal behavior or thoughts or abnormal changes in behavior, and contact their physician immediately if they occur.
If the patient has to undergo general anesthesia, he should inform the anesthetist that he is using tianeptine. It should be discontinued (after consultation with a doctor) within 24-48 hours before the planned operation. In emergency cases, the patient should be under close medical supervision in the postoperative period.
Do not stop using the product suddenly.Its discontinuation should be progressive, after consultation with a physician within 7-14 days.
Exercise caution in the case of people with an addiction to alcohol and / or medication in an interview. In these cases, increasing the dose should be avoided and the recommended doses should not be exceeded.
Due to the lack of safety data, it is not recommended for use in children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.
Does this preparation affect the ability to drive vehicles?
In some patients, the drug may impair psychomotor performance. Caution should be exercised when driving or using machines.

Dosage of Aneptinex

The preparation is in the form of coated tablets. It is intended for oral use. Do not exceed the recommended doses because it will not increase the effectiveness of the drug and may harm your health and life. If you have any doubts regarding the use of the preparation, consult a physician.
Adults, orally, before meals 12.5 mg 3 × / day.
In people over 70 years old or with kidney failure 12.5 mg 2 × / day.
In case of severe renal failure, a dose reduction should be considered.
There is no need to modify the dosage in people with alcohol dependence (with or without cirrhosis).

Can Aneptinex be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

During pregnancy, do not use any medicine without consulting your doctor!
It is very important to consult a physician before taking any medicine during pregnancy (and also during breastfeeding) and to explain beyond any doubt the potential risks and benefits of using the medicine. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, please inform the doctor prescribing the prescription for this medicine.
It is not recommended to use the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Can I use other preparations in parallel?

Tell your doctor about all medicines you have recently taken, including those that are over the counter.
Do not use the preparation with MAO inhibitors due to the risk of cardiac collapse, paroxysmal hypertension, hyperthermia, convulsions, death (tianeptine administration may be started 14 days after discontinuation of MAO inhibitor, MAO inhibitor therapy may be initiated at least 24 h after discontinuation of tianeptine) .
Tianeptine should not be used with mianserin due to the antagonistic effects observed in animal models.

What side effects can occur?

Like all medicines, Aneptinex can also cause side effects, although it will not occur in all patients taking this medicine. Remember that the expected benefits of using the drug are usually greater than the damage resulting from the occurrence of side effects.
Common: anorexia, nightmares, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, fainting, tremors, tachycardia, additional cramps, chest pain, hot flushes, shortness of breath, stomach pain, abdominal pain, dryness of the oral mucosa , nausea, vomiting, constipation, bloating, muscle pain, lumbar pain, weakness, feeling of compressed throat.
Uncommon: maculopapular rash or erythematous rash, pruritus, urticaria.
Rarely may occur: abuse and addiction to the drug, in particular in people up to 50 years of age with alcohol or drug addiction.
In addition, with unspecified frequency during treatment with tianeptine or soon after its discontinuation may occur: thoughts or suicidal behaviors, acne.
