What is Atussan?

Non-opioid antitussive drug with central effect.

What does Atussan contain and how does it work?

The active substance of the preprotein is butamate citrate. It is an antitussive that differs from opioid alkaloids in both chemical structure and pharmacological action. It is believed to have central effects, but the exact mechanism of action is unknown. The preparation has non-specific anticholinergic and bronchodilatory properties, which facilitates breathing. It does not cause habituation or addiction, has a wide therapeutic index (and therefore is well tolerated, also by children).

When to use Atussan?

The preparation is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of coughs of various origins.

When not to use this preparation?

Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the preparation if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients.

When should you exercise extreme caution when using Atussan?

Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. In some situations it may be necessary to carry out specific check-ups.

Dosage of Atussan
