An antihistamine with antiallergic activity.
The active substance is azelastine. Azelastine blocks peripheral histamine type 1 (H1) receptors. In this way, it inhibits the action of histamine, a substance that causes allergic symptoms. It is a second generation antihistamine. Relieves allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, swelling and itching of the mucous membranes of the eyes and nose. Azelastine lasts up to 12 hours.
The product is indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis in adults and children after the age of 4 years.
The preparation is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of perennial allergic conjunctivitis in adults and children over 12 years of age.
Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the preparation if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients. It is not recommended to use the product during breastfeeding.
Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. In some situations it may be necessary to carry out specific check-ups.
The preparation is intended only for external use, and for the conjunctival sac. The active substance is absorbed into the body directly through the mucous membranes of the eyes, which allows for its quick action and less exposure to systemic side effects.

- the preparation contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, which can accumulate in soft contact lenses and destroy them (discolouring soft contact lenses); people who use contact lenses should remove them before instillation and wait at least 15 minutes before re-inserting.

Adults and children after 12.year of life: 1 drop for each eye, 2 times a day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 1 droplet administered 4 times a day.
1 cycle of treatment with the preparation should be limited to 6 weeks.
During pregnancy, do not use any medicine without consulting your doctor!

There are no adequate data on the use of the preparation in pregnant women. The use of the drug in pregnancy is possible only after consultation with a doctor and only if definitely necessary.

There are no data on the interaction of the preparation with other drugs.
In the case of topical use of other ophthalmic preparations, a minimum of a few minutes should be allowed between each administration of medication.
Like all medicines, Allergodil can cause side effects, although they will not occur in all patients who use this medicine. Remember that the expected benefits of using the drug are usually greater than the damage resulting from the occurrence of side effects.
There may be local side effects including: eye irritation (burning and pricking), rare bitter taste in the mouth. Very rarely possible hypersensitivity reactions.
