What is Artecholin N?
Preparation of plant origin, traditionally used in diseases of the bile ducts.
What does Artecholin N contain and how does it work?
It is a complex preparation, it contains a liquid extract from the herb of the god's sage, from the fruit of the milk thistle, the peppermint leaf, the herb of the scrubber, the root of the dandelion and the herb of yarrow. The substances contained in the extract have a diastolic effect on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, increase the secretion and flow of bile (bile-forming and choleretic action), support the regeneration of the liver, stimulate secretory functions of the gastrointestinal tract.
When should I use Artecholin N?
Traditionally, the preparation is used for indigestion (with symptoms of heartburn, belching, nausea) and gastrointestinal disorders caused by insufficient secretion of gastric juice and bile.
When not to use this preparation?
Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the preparation if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients of the preparation or to other plants from the Asteraceae / compound family (Asteraceae / Compositae), such as yarrow, chamomile or arnica, or if you are allergic to menthol.
It is not recommended to use the preparation in some bile duct diseases, for example in cholangitis, cholelithiasis.
Do not use the preparation in children under 12 years of age.
Take special care with Artecholin N?
Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. In some situations it may be necessary to carry out specific check-ups.
Due to the ethanol content, the preparation may cause harmful effects in people addicted to alcohol, patients with epilepsy, brain damage or a damaged liver.
Due to the lack of clinical experience and the content of ethanol in the preparation, it should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Additional information about the other ingredients of the preparation:
· The product contains ethanol: 5 ml of the preparation i.e.1 teaspoon contains 2.95 g of ethanol; this should be taken into account when using the preparation in people who are addicted to alcohol, liver disease or epilepsy.
Does this preparation affect the ability to drive vehicles?
Do not drive or operate machines / machines for at least 30 minutes after use because the preparation may impair psychophysical fitness. After application of the preparation, ethyl alcohol can be detected in the exhaled air by appropriate measuring instruments.
Dosage of Artecholin N preparation
The preparation is a liquid for oral use. Do not exceed the recommended doses because it will not increase the effectiveness of the drug and may harm your health and life. If you have any doubts regarding the use of the preparation, consult a physician.
Take 5 ml of the preparation in a small amount of water 3 times a day; the preparation should be taken before or during a meal.
Can Artecholin N be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
During pregnancy, do not use any medicine without consulting your doctor!
It is very important that before using any medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a physician and explain beyond any doubt the potential risks and benefits associated with the use of the drug.
Due to the ethanol content and due to the lack of sufficient data on safety, the preparation should not be used in pregnant women or in women during breastfeeding.
Can I use other preparations in parallel?
Tell your doctor about all medicines you have recently taken, including those that are over the counter.
There are no data on the interaction of the preparation with other drugs.
What side effects can occur?
Like all medicines, Artecholin N can cause side effects, although they will not occur in all patients who use this medicine. Remember that the expected benefits of using the drug are usually greater than the damage resulting from the occurrence of side effects.
