What is Aesculan?

What does Aesculan contain and how does it work?

It is a combined preparation containing Lidocaine , a local anesthetic drug with amide structure and chestnut bark extract. Lidocaine inhibits the formation and transmission of nerve impulses. Lidocaine acts on pain ends and sensory nerves, it belongs to drugs with a rapid onset of action. It is administered only by parenteral route. Lidocaine contained in the preparation soothes pruritus, burning and pain caused by hemorrhoids, and chestnut bark extract has a mild anti-inflammatory and astringent effect. The preparation has a local effect and practically does not exert systemic effects.
