What is Altacet?
A drug with astringent, anti-swelling, local pain relief.
What does Altacet contain and how does it work?
The active substance of the preparation is aluminum acetate, which has astringent effect, reduces swelling of tissues and reduces pain within the focus of inflammation. When applied to the skin, aluminum acetate alkanate denatures the proteins within the infiltrating and inflammatory skin changes, leading to a reduction of exudate and inflammation. The product also contains menthol, which has a cooling effect.
When to use Altacet?
The preparation is indicated:
· In the treatment of bruises, post-traumatic and joint swelling
· In the treatment of oedemas caused by first degree burns
When not to use this preparation?
Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the product if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients. Do not use the product orally, in the case of extensive wounds, on damaged skin and places on the skin with visible eczema or on infected skin. Do not use the preparation in children before the age of 3 years.
Take special care with Altacet?
Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. Do not use this preparation for more than 3-5 days. If you experience signs of irritation or skin changes, stop using the product and contact your doctor. Do not use it for eyes or mucous membranes (in the event of accidental contact with these places, wash them thoroughly with water).
Does this preparation affect the ability to drive vehicles?
There are no studies on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive and use machines / machines. Be careful.
Dosage of Altacet
The preparation is a gel for use on the skin. It should be applied to the skin 3-4 times a day, preferably in the form of compresses (drying, non-occlusive).
Can I use Altacet during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
During pregnancy, do not use any medicine without consulting your doctor!
It is very important that before using any medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a physician and explain beyond any doubt the potential risks and benefits associated with the use of the drug. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, please inform the doctor prescribing the prescription for this medicine.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, this preparation can only be used after consultation with a physician and only if absolutely necessary.
Can I use other preparations in parallel?
There are no known interactions of the preparation with other drugs.
What side effects can occur?
Like all medicines, also Altacet gel can cause side effects, although they will not occur in all patients using this product.Remember that the expected benefits of using the drug are usually greater than the damage resulting from the occurrence of side effects.
Skin reactions, allergic reactions (including late ones), skin softening, follicular, erythematous or granular reactions may occur. Long-term use of the preparation in people with severe renal failure may lead to an increase in the amount of albumin in the blood plasma and a decrease in the concentration of inorganic phosphates in the blood serum.
