What is Aflegan?

Mucolytic drug, thins secretions in the airways and facilitates its removal.

What does Aflegan contain and how does it work?

The active substance of the preparation is Ambroxol . Ambroxol increases the secretion of mucus in the airways, reduces its viscosity and improves the function of the cilia of the respiratory epithelium, and thus dilutes the obstructing secretion and improves its transport. In this way, it helps to clear the airways, facilitates expectoration, does not disturb the natural cough reflex.

When should Aflegan be used?

Prevention of pulmonary complications in patients after intensive care.

When not to use this preparation?

Unfortunately, even if there are indications to use the preparation, it can not always be used. You can not use the preparation if you are allergic (you are hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients. It is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy or during breastfeeding.

Take special care with Aflegan?

Certain diseases and other circumstances may constitute a contraindication to use or indication to change the dosage of the preparation. Dosage of Aflegan

The preparation is a solution for injection. It is intended for intravenous use by injection (injection) or by drip infusion. The preparation may only be administered by qualified medical personnel. If you have any doubts regarding the use of the preparation, consult a physician.
Adults: 1 ampoule (15 mg) 2-3 times a day in a slow intravenous injection. In severe cases, the doctor may increase the single dose to 2 ampoules (30 mg). After proper preparation, the solution can also be administered as a drip infusion.

Can Aflegan be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

During pregnancy, do not use any medicine without consulting your doctor!
It is very important that before using any medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding, consult a physician and explain beyond any doubt the potential risks and benefits associated with the use of the drug. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, please inform the doctor prescribing the prescription for this medicine.
It is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. The use of the drug during the remainder of pregnancy is possible only after consultation with a physician and only if absolutely necessary.
It is not recommended to use the product during breastfeeding.

Can I use other preparations in parallel?

What side effects can occur?

Like all medicines, Aflegan can cause side effects, although it will not occur in all patients who use this medicine. Remember that the expected benefits of using the drug are usually greater than the damage resulting from the occurrence of side effects.
The preparation is generally well tolerated. Sometimes abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, indigestion, diarrhea, hypersensitivity reactions (rash, urticaria) and Anaphylactic reactions (very rare, severe reactions that may be life-threatening, including swelling of the throat, larynx, bronchospasm, hypotension, shock). Occasional occurrence of severe skin lesions: Stevens and Johnson syndrome, and toxic necrosis.
