What is Ascorvita?

, influences the metabolism of thyroxine, facilitates the absorption of iron. Stimulates immune processes, in the course of colds and flu there is an increased demand for vitamin C. Deficiency of vitamin C (eg after a few months of diet with insufficient vitamin C content) results in abnormal connective tissue function, synthesis disorders and metabolism of many Biol
ogical molecules, general weakness, pain muscles and joints, delayed healing of wounds, bleeding from the gums and from the nose, inflammation of the gums, development of scurvy. The normal concentration of Ascorbic acid
in the plasma is about 10 mg / l, in people with hypovitaminosis symptoms it is lower than 6 mg / l, and in people with clinical symptoms of scorching less than 2 mg / l. After oral administration, ascorbic acid is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract in a dose-dependent amount (up to 200 mg daily is absorbed up to 90%, for a dose of 1 g per day, about 50%). · With an increased concentration of oxalates in the urine (risk of crystallization of oxalic acid)
· Taking tricyclic antidepressants
· With excessive absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract.
Vitamin C can affect the results of some laboratory tests (eg, for the determination of urinary glucose, faecal occult blood, levels of ethyl estradiol, liver enzymes, iron levels, and urine pH).

When used in large doses, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) causes acidification of the urine, which may reduce the excretion of acidic drugs and increase the excretion of alkaline drugs (eg tricyclic antidepressants). Vitamin C may affect the effects of anticoagulants (such as Warfarin
), increase the absorption of iron (also increase iron toxicity), reduce the excretion of Acetylsalicylic acid
. Flavonoids intensify and prolong the action of vitamin C. The use of vitamin C with sulfonamides may cause the precipitation of sulfonamide crystals in the urine. Vitamin C can increase the concentration of extrinsic estrogens in the blood. Vitamin C can also affect the results of some laboratory tests (eg for the determination of glucose in the urine, for the determination of faecal occult blood). Before carrying out laboratory tests, please inform your doctor that you are taking the product.
