Mucolytic drug, thins secretions in the airways and facilitates its removal.
The active substance is Acetylcysteine . It is a derivative of the cysteine amino acid. Acetylcysteine increases the secretion of mucus in the airways, reduces its viscosity and liquefies obstructing secretions and facilitates its transport (improves the function of the respiratory epithelium). In this way, it helps to clear the airways, facilitates expectoration, does not disturb the natural cough reflex. Acetylcysteine is also used as an antidote for Paracetamol poisoning.
The preparation is indicated as a drug that dilutes the airway secretion and facilitates its expectoration in patients with bronchitis associated with colds.

The parallel use of antitussives and the preparation may cause dangerous secretion of the secretion due to the reduction of the cough reflex.
When using acetylcysteine and oral antibiotics, at least a 2-hour interval should be maintained between taking these drugs due to the risk of inactivation of antibiotics.
